ABOUT THE PROJECT

At a time when the world is in a health and economic crisis, vulnerable musicians are not able to pay their rent because they are independently employed and make their income playing live shows.  Meanwhile, music lovers are isolated at home, suffering from anxiety and fear.

Motherwolf and Jazz Mafia are coming together with supporting partners to bring financial relief to musicians in the SF Bay Area who need it most and share music that brings emotional relief to the world. 

Motherwolf is a new digital music label created by artists for artists. Motherwolf creates multi-sensory musical experiences that stimulate human possibility. Our mission is to make you feel something so you will do something. 

Adam Theis co-founded Jazz Mafia; an eclectic artist collective of some of the most forward-thinking and accomplished players of Electro, Hip-Hop, World, Classical, and of course, Jazz. In its 20 years, it has become one of the most prolific music collectives on the West Coast, bringing together many of the Bay Area's most creative and accomplished instrumentalists, vocalists, MCs, composer and arrangers in what has become the quintessential San Francisco sound. 

ABOUT OUR PARTNERS

Jazz in the Neighborhood works to improve the economics of jazz performance in the Bay Area by presenting affordable concerts, paying musicians a guaranteed wage, and supporting the work of established and aspiring jazz artists. Jazz in the Neighborhood is proud to volunteer it's administrative support to this inspirational project.  Awards will be paid directly to selected applicants through Intersection for the Arts, our fiscal sponsor. 

Intersection for the Arts is a bedrock Bay Area arts nonprofit that’s dedicated to helping artists grow. Through vital resources, including fiscal sponsorship, low-cost coworking and event space, and professional development programs, we empower people to continue creating, thinking big, and taking weird and wonderful risks.
